Biography
Emma Dennis was born and raised in South Wales. A natural singer, Emma began to sing almost before she began to talk! Throughout her childhood she would entertain family and friends with her own 'shows' which she put on in the living room, back garden and school yard. Emma decided to see how far she could take her singing with formal musical training and gained a place at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. Whilst there she won the Sir Geraint Evans Scholarship and graduated with distinction. She then decided to continue her studies and won a place at the Royal Academy of Music, after winning sponsorship from Channel Four Wales and a Royal Academy Bursary.Whilst at college Emma was quickly recognised as the ‘Most Promising Singer at the College’ and in her first year of study was awarded the ‘Della Windsor Memorial Award’. Amongst the above awards Emma also won the 'Daniel Davies Award' for 'Best Student', the ‘Laura Ashley Foundation Award’, the Morriston Orpheus Choir Subscriber’s Association Award ‘MOCSA’ for ‘Best Young Singer of the Year’ – this prestigious prize has recognised some of the biggest names in the operatic world - and the much coveted Silver Medal from the Worshipful Company of Musicians.

As a soloist Emma travels far and wide performing in venues such as the Wigmore Hall in London, St. David’s Hall in Cardiff, the Brangwyn Hall in Swansea, the Southwark Festival in London, Llandaff Cathedral and the Birmingham Symphony Hall to name but a few.
She has sung under the baton of some of the finest conductors in the country including Steuart Bedford, John Lubbock, John Pryce-Jones and Mark Elder with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra.
Emma's Operatic performances include ‘Adina’ L’elisir d’amore, ‘Marenka’ The Bartered Bride, ‘Lucy Lockit’ The Beggar’s Opera, (Britten’s Realisation) and ‘Pamina’ The Magic Flute as part of the Cardiff Festival. ‘Ellen Orford’ Peter Grimes, ‘Susanna’ Le Nozze di Figaro, the title role in ‘Manon’ (Massenet), ‘Anezka’ The Two Widows, ‘Fedra’ Egisto, ‘Frau Fluth’ Die Lustigen Weiber von Windsor and ‘A Lover’/‘Voce di Sopranino’ Il Tabarro in a concert performance with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra at the Birmingham Symphony Hall conducted by Mark Elder.
Emma also enjoys the world of Oratorio. Her most recent performances include Handel’s Messiah, Mozart’s Requiem, Rossini’s Stabat Mater, Faure’s Requiem, Schubert’s, Mass in E flat, Brahms’ Requiem, Scarlatti’s St. Cecilia Mass, Vivaldi’s Gloria, Rutter’s Requiem, Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle, Bach’s Magnificat and an authentic baroque performance of Bach’s Cantata 51 (Jauchzet Gott in Allen Landen).
Emma was recently chosen to represent Wales in the Middle East, where she performed in the Welsh Assembly Governments ‘Wales World Nation’ exhibition at Wafi City Dubai, which culminated in a cabaret performance at ‘The Pyramids’. She has also recently returned from the Seychelles where she was guest star onboard a luxury cruise liner on the Indian Ocean.

Emma’s latest performances include ‘Music in the Park’ at Spaldington Old Hall East Yorkshire, a concert Tour of Northern Ireland, 'September Serenade' in East Yorkshire, 'Music of the Night' in County Cork Republic of Ireland, 'Midweek Music' performance in Southport, ‘Some Enchanted Evening’ and ‘Musical Matinee’ in Scarborough, tour of regional theatres with ‘A Night at the Proms!’ as part of the Amoroso trio, a recital at the Doncaster Museum as part of their Lunchtime Concert Series, a concert tour of regional theatres in 'The Sound of Christmas', an Operatic Evening at the prestigious London Carlton Club and she has recently returned from a very successful 24 performance concert tour of Jersey.
As well as singing and performing Emma has a talent for musical arrangement, and arranges items for her performances with Amoroso, as well as choreographing, programme arranging and scripting the performances.
